Sohpia Xu was born in Wuxi in mainland China. She is currently a student of Master of Journalism at the University of Hong Kong. She studied English translation and English literature during her undergraduate time. She got interests in Journalism while doing a multimedia presentation of environmental topics and current events. Before she decided to choose Journalism as her career, she had multiple internships to seek her preference.
She was an advertisement strategist, in Chengmeicai Advertising Company from May to July last year. She was responsible for the proofreading of advertising copy and the layout of the event site. Her group was in charge of the Company website’s overall planning, content construction, and its layout. She also participated in the production of the company’s promotional video and the release of the multimedia platform.
After this job experience, she went to Hangzhou International Exchange Service Center to work as a Translation assistant from July to August. During her work time, she was responsible for basic translation, translation proofreading and revision. She also formulated the recruitment requirements and main work contents of volunteers, and coordinate its recruitment.
After these working experience, she found her interests in Journalism, that’s why she decided to go to a master’s degree and chose journalism as her major. She successfully become a student of Master of Journalism in the University of Hong Kong. Now she is working hard to become a professional journalist.
